Term 2 begins
Welcome back to Term 2 2009. We have a new Introduction to Belly Dance class on Tuesday night at 6.30pm in Takapuna. Students in this class may either go straight into Level 1 in week 6 of the term or can choose to repeat the Introduction class. The second Introduction class of Term 2 starts on Tuesday 2 June, so for those interested in learning to Belly Dance or those who wish to repeat the fundamentals, please complete your registration here.

If Tuesday evening at 6.30pm does not work for your schedule, please consider the Belly Dance Drills class in Glenfield on Thursdays at 5.45pm. This class caters to all students from beginners through to advanced, working with belly dance movements, applying them to small routines, with lots of repetition. We also take the time for deep stretching in this class which is a great way to relax and get ready for your weekend.

With the MEDANZ festival now behind us, with many happy memories to enjoy, we are looking forward to this Saturday night 9th May, which celebrates World Belly Dance Day at the Glen Eden Playhouse, Glendale Road. This casual show of belly dance teachers and students, including students from Medance Levels 2, 3 & 4, as well as dancers from the greater Auckland region will start at 7pm, door sales $20, so come along and enjoy an evening of joyous belly dance Auckland style.

I am happy to advise that registration for the Solo Development class is now closed, and we have a full class. Students will be working towards their own belly dance solos for performance later in the year, and from the projects and ideas already suggested, this should be a cracker!
The MEDANZ Bhuzzzz......
Thank you to all of my wonderful students for all of their time and effort put into their costuming and performances at the recent MEDANZ Festival - didn't we have fun!

Thank you too, to all of my students for getting along and being part of festival, taking workshops, purchasing things in the Hudra, and enjoying a night or two out at the Show, Tribal Jam, and Hafla. It was wonderful to have all of this to enjoy right here on the North Shore in Auckland. We are so looking forward to next year in Tauranga!

Thank you as well to the students who attended my four workshops at festival, it was lovely to meet some new faces, and to spend time with some wonderful belly dance teachers and students from around the country, share our learning, and developing our dance skills. I am looking forward to continuing our journey together next year.
